Boyd was professor of chemistry at New York University from 1947 (They are best known for their book Organic Chemistry, which first appeared in 1959 and in the United States) and co-authored by Bhattacharjee who was a professor with the Department of Chemistry at Guwahati University. He has his PhD in Ph. D.-Organic Chemistry. The best-seller book has gone through 7 editions.
